Contemporary Bath

Modern bathrooms are in: a contemporary bath flanked with modern sinks and vanities is what people want in their homes. When we think of a modern bath tub, we think of stark colors, bold lines, and a minimal, functional style. You can create a modern feel in your bathroom with such a tub, and for probably less than you think; at any rate, replacing just the tub will save you money when you’re trying to create a contemporary bath, instead of replacing all of the surfaces, tiling, and the vanities.

A contemporary bath is created when you look at the material choices, lines, style, and most of all, a minimal, functional look. When you look at a tub, a contemporary one will have stark materials: usually porcelain, or granite, and have clean lines with little trinketry; you aren’t looking for a bath that shouts at anyone who enters, loudly proclaiming what it is and what it was designed to do. No, you’re looking for a bath that’s quiet, refined, dignified: something that whispers instead of shouts, and extends a hand when needed.

If you’re looking to create a contemporary bath, the tub is where you’re going to begin: something you can replace quickly and relatively cheaply, something that will completely and totally change the look of a bathroom. When you’re looking at tubs, you want something that has clean lines, no curves or trinkets. You’re looking for something that has a minimalistic, refined style, and is functional in its design: something that is as beautiful to use as it is to look at.  When you find something that catches your eye, make sure that it fits the mold of a contemporary bath: when it does, you’ve found your new tub.
